Why I fail extending screen?

DeskIn supports extended screens, but sometimes you may find you can't use it. This article will explain several screen expansion failure situations and solutions.

Situation 1: Why do I only have a mirrored screen when I do extended screen?

If you find that the two screens are just mirrored and you can’t operate the second screen, please check your system display settings.

Windows System Display Settings:

Go to Windows System Settings >> Display Settings, select the second screen and change the settings to "Extend these displays". You can also drag and drop to adjust the position of the two screens according to your usage habits.

MacOS system settings:

Click the Apple icon on the top toolbar to go to System Settings >> Display Settings, select the DeskIn screen (i.e. extended screen) and set the screen option to "Extended Display". You can also click "Arrange…" to adjust the position of the two screens.

Situation 2: “The current system is not supported yet”?

DeskIn extended screen features works on these version and operating systems:

  • -DeskIn 2.9.0 or above
  • -Windows 1903 or above
  • -macOS 10.15 Catalina or above
  • -Android 6 or above
  • -iOS 10 or above

In addition, if your CPU memory is small or the usage is too high, it may also cause the screen expansion to fail.

Situation 3: Why is there a prompt saying “does not support initiating extended screen”?

Please note that you do not need a remote connection before extending the screen! When you see the following prompt, please check whether your device is in a connected session. End the connection first, then you can do expanded screen.

Situation 4: “The current version does not support this feature”?

When you see this prompt, pls go to DeskIn official website to download the updated DeskIn version:https://www.deskin.io/download

Note:The Mac Appstore version 3.1.01 dont support extended screen, pls go to DeskIn official website to download the full-features version 3.1.0.1 to use this feature.
